The Raisin Administrative Committee (RAC) is a federal marketing order with a membership of nearly 3,000 growers and 24 packers. The RAC is led by a governing body of 47 growers, packers,  a public member, and an equal number of alternates. The RAC is directly overseen by the Department of Agriculture and was created in 1949 as a result of the Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act of 1937. The Raisin Administrative Committee meets regularly at our headquarters in downtown Fresno, employs a staff of 13, collects and distributes delivery data weekly and shipment data monthly, publishes an annual report of industry statistics and policies, actively and directly markets into 18 foreign nations, and collaborates with the USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service.

U.S. Raisins, grown in California, are hand-picked and sun-dried natural dried fruit without adding any additives. Thirty-five percent of the world’s raisins come from California. Due to their perfect shape, consistent color, rich natural sugar, high fiber content, and natural fruity taste, California Raisins are widely used in bakery, confectionery, snack, cereal, and in dairy products. Meanwhile, California Raisins have become one of the best ingredients for food preparation because of their versatility.

California Raisins are fat-and cholesterol-free. They also contain iron, potassium, phosphor, calcium, magnesium, and Vitamin B.
